Every city page below covers what actually changes the math where you live: which utility bills you, what the housing stock looks like, and how permits work.

Our home base Northridge Where our office is. CSUN-area neighborhoods, postwar ranch homes, LADWP net metering — and the city we know street by street. LADWP Granada Hills Ranch homes along the Balboa Blvd corridor and hillside houses up toward O'Melveny Park — two very different solar designs. LADWP Encino Larger lots, pools, and bigger square footage south of Ventura Blvd mean higher usage — and more room for solar to pay off. LADWP Woodland Hills The hottest corner of the Valley. When AC runs from May to October, solar has the most work to do — and the most to save. LADWP Sherman Oaks Flats north of Ventura Blvd and hillside streets to the south, both on LADWP's own net metering program. LADWP Van Nuys The Valley's civic core, full of postwar single-family homes with simple composition-shingle roofs — straightforward installs. Burbank Water and Power Burbank Served by its own municipal utility, Burbank Water and Power, with its own solar interconnection rules — we handle them. Glendale Water and Power Glendale Glendale Water and Power territory, from Adams Hill to the Verdugo foothills. Municipal utility, separate program, same process from us.

Why your utility matters more than your ZIP code

Most of the Valley cities we serve — Northridge, Granada Hills, Encino, Woodland Hills, Sherman Oaks, West Hills, and Van Nuys — are part of the City of Los Angeles, which means LADWP is the utility. LADWP is a municipal utility and runs its own net metering program, separate from the CPUC decision known as NEM 3.0 that applies to investor-owned utilities like SCE. That distinction genuinely changes how exported solar energy gets credited, so we walk through the current rules for your specific address during your estimate.

Burbank and Glendale each have their own municipal utility — Burbank Water and Power and Glendale Water and Power — with their own programs and paperwork. Elsewhere in LA County, SCE customers fall under NEM 3.0. Whichever territory you're in, we handle the interconnection application and the permit so you don't have to learn three utilities' rules.
