Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit our estimate form or contact us, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and anything you include in your message. If you apply for a job, we collect your resume and the information in it. If you become a customer, we collect the information needed to design and deliver your project, such as your address and electricity usage.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools may log basic technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and how you found us. We use this in aggregate to understand how the site is used.
How we use your information
- To respond to your estimate request and schedule consultations.
- To design, install, repair, and service solar systems you hire us for.
- To send appointment reminders and service updates.
- To send marketing communications, where you have agreed to receive them.
- To improve our website and services.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Calls and text messages
When you submit our estimate form, you agree to receive marketing and customer service calls and text messages from Collective Solar at the number you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, and you can ask us to stop calling by telling us so on any call or emailing info@collectivesolar.io. Opting out of marketing does not affect service communications about an active project.
How we share information — and what we never do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We share information only:
- With service providers who help us operate — such as website and form hosting, scheduling, and communications tools — and only so they can perform those services for us.
- With the licensed installation crews and financing providers involved in your project, if you move forward with one, so they can deliver it.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above — for customers, that includes the life of your warranty and any period required by law. When we no longer need it, we delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we are legally required to keep). California residents may have additional rights under California privacy law. To make a request, email info@collectivesolar.io — we will verify your identity and respond.
Children
Our website and services are for homeowners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
